Bud Buckley and Jax Resto are BudaRest, troche a multi-talented songwriting/performing duo transplanted from New York’s Hudson Valley to Southwest Florida. They produce a weekly community radio show called Artistic Mashup With BudaRest at KDWRadio.com at 8 PM EST Tuesdays and Fridays with The Best of BudaRest Saturday at noon. Budarest and Bud are  consistently in Reverbnation’s Top Ten US and Global Singer/Songwriter Charts and also in the top 10 in Florida.

Up to 2002

Bud Buckley was a public school teacher and union journalist in New Paltz and Hyde Park. He was Public Relations Director of Hyde Park and Dutchess County teacher unions. National and state award winning journalist for American Federation of Teachers and New York State United Teachers.

Jax Resto was a professional dancer in New York, then later an aerialist in Ringling Brothers. She began writing novels during her circus career. After retiring from the circus, she became a drummer and songwriter and novelist.

2003-2010

Jax Resto was a drummer for all- female band Kore for two years during which the band produced a CD, and two music videos. Kore played at the St. Pete Film Festival, and later won Mamapalooza Band of the year which brought them New York City for a performance on the Hudson. After leaving Kore, Jax put together Female Band Invasion (F.B.I.), a female band with a twist until it dissolved in 2011. She is currently playing drums with local rock band Sweet Turbulence, as well as with BudaRest.

Bud Buckley recorded five CDs of original music in Woodstock NY which were critically acclaimed. Toured the Northeast at large festivals, and Manhattan venues as well as Hyde Park Library Series, and mid Hudson Coffee houses. Opened the Sundance Film Festival in 2010. Performed in and served as Music Technical Advisor for full-length motion picture Beautiful Noise in 2011. Selected for many compilation CDs and local music festivals. Bud Buckley: Saint Bonaventure University, BA Journalism; SUNY Albany MS Educational Communications, SUNY New Paltz CAD Educational Administration.

Jax Resto attended Queens College where she majored in creative writing and theater, and Venice School of Massage Therapy.
